Taos Land Trust appreciates your interest in learning how you might be able to include the environment as a beneficiary of your long-range plans.

There are a number of ways you can make a financial commitment from your will, living trust, or other estate plans to protect the environment.

Bequest a Gift of Cash, Property or Real Estate in Your Will

The most common way people remember the Taos Land Trust in a will or living trust is through a charitable bequest. Your bequest is entirely under your control during life and becomes irrevocable only at death.

If you wish to name Taos Land Trust in your will or estate plan, this is an the information you will need and sample language you can use:

Tax Identification number: 85-0373099
Date of incorporation: November 5, 1990

I ___________ give, devise and bequeath _______________ (insert dollar amount or item of property to be donated) to the Taos Land Trust, or its successor organization, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization as described in section 501 (a) of the Internal Revenue Code with principal business address of P.O. Box 376, Taos, NM 87571.

All unrestricted charitable gifts are used strategically to support our top conservation priorities. Please contact our gift giving team at info@taoslandtrust.org if you would like to further designate your gift.

Charitable Gift Annuity

Donate a capital sum to Taos Land Trust and receive regular annual payments back. Benefits include attractive interest rates which are locked for life, and excellent potential for tax exemptions.

A Deferred Gift Annuity

Receive deductions when you give property or cash to Taos Land Trust, and receive income after a specified deferred date. Benefits include tax reductions for you today, and guaranteed income later.

Make Taos Land Trust Your Retirement Plan Beneficiary

This option allows you to lighten the tax burden on your family, while eliminating income tax on your retirement assets

A Life Insurance

This option creates a long-term gift to Taos Land Trust that won’t draw funds from your estate

Charitable Lead Trust

A charitable lead trust reduces your beneficiaries’ taxable income by first donating a portion of the trust’s income to Taos Land Trust, and then transferring the remainder to your heirs after a specified time period.

We welcome the opportunity to show you the potential benefits of making a gift to support our work. But please note that Taos Land Trust does not offer legal, tax, or financial planning advice. You are encouraged to consult your own legal counsel, tax advisor, and/or financial planner to discuss a planned giving strategy that seems right for you.
