Taos Land Trust is committed to providing conservation, regenerative agriculture, and ecology- focused education programs to Taos County residents. Rio Fernando Park serves as our primary outdoor learning playground, where students of all ages can explore restored wetlands, quantify plant diversity, play among willows, or plant seeds in rich soil.
Our education programs include our Emerging Ecologist program, which offers customized outdoor workshops for local schools and homeschool groups; interactive weekend events and festivals; hands-on workshops for adults; and internships for young adults.
Our Emerging Ecologist education programs seek to foster the next generation of land stewards, scientists and inquisitive thinkers by providing workshops and curriculum that promote nature immersion, exploration, and creative problem solving. We invite school groups to visit us for free hands-on learning led by our team of experienced educators. Workshops topics include environmental education, regenerative agriculture, nature art, and stewardship. All lessons are modified to be grade-level appropriate, and we can provide lesson plans and grade-level standards upon request.
To sign up for a workshop, email our Education Coordinator wicks@taoslandtrust.org.
